On what is sure to be a beautiful holiday weekend, we will celebrate our 181st Founder’s Day. We hope you’ll join us and the Reverend Bill Craven for this special service, which closes with a memorial observance in the cemetery. In recognition of Canada 150 and 300 years of Freemasonry, we are particularly honouring the Veteran, Legion and Masonic graves in our historic churchyard this year. Be sure to stay for lunch in the parish hall to visit with friends and neighbours. We hope it will be a ‘Founder’s Day’ for the whole village.
We encourage families to place flowers – red and white in this Canada 150 year – on the grave sites that are particularly meaningful to you. We also like to honour the many pioneering Port Burwell families who rest in this place. If you would like to ‘adopt an ancestor’ for Decoration Day, we can provide information about many individuals so that you can select someone whose story resonates particularly with you.
