Trinity will be a big part of the celebration, with our pre-Confederation Church open for visiting 1-3 pm. Take a walk through our historic cemetery too – and stop at the grave of Leonidas Burwell, the Colonel’s son, who was our MP on July 1st 1867.
Doors Open features unique properties of all types and welcomes shun-piker visitors from across Ontario for a closeup view of significant properties in our communities. They don’t come better than Trinity and its churchyard.
Our sanctuary is the gift of Colonel Mahlon Burwell in 1836, the surrounding cemetery dates to the earliest years of European settlers on the lakefront, and our Parish Hall was Port Burwell’s continuation school until it was outgrown and moved across the street by a forward-looking parish council in 1924.
We look forward to welcoming you to Doors Open @ Trinity – Saturday, September 16, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
